Pete Quinn
President & CEO

Pete Quinn

Pete serves as President and Chief Operating Officer for RiverFront, bringing over 32 years of industry experience to his role leading the organization. In addition, he serves on the firm’s Executive Committee and is Chairman of the Operating Committee.

Pete spent the majority of his career at Wachovia Securities and its predecessor firms, lastly serving as President of the Private Client Group, where he ran the retail branch network. He worked in all areas of the firm, including capital markets, asset management and retail brokerage. Pete served as President of Mentor Investment Group, the asset management arm of the firm. Pete earned a BS in Accounting from The College of William & Mary and an MBA from the University of Richmond. He later served as an adjunct faculty member in the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond, teaching an undergraduate class in finance.

Rod Smyth
Director of Investments

Rod Smyth

As Chief Investment Strategist, Rod is responsible for developing and communicating RiverFront’s investment views to our clients. Rod brings more than 30 years of global investment experience to support both our investment process and business development efforts. He serves on the firm’s Executive and Operating Committees, where he focuses on the strategic direction of the firm and its culture.

Rod, an Irishman, has lived, worked, and invested in Europe, Asia and North America during his tenure in the investment business. From 1982 to 1995, he was based in Europe as a global portfolio manager and in Asia as the investment strategist for a leading British investment bank.

In 1995, Rod moved to Richmond to work for Wachovia Securities and its predecessor firms where he combined both roles serving as the firm’s Chief Investment Strategist for eight years and as portfolio manager for its Global Asset Allocation portfolios. Rod is also the current Chairman of the Investment Advisory Committee for the $60 bil Virginia State Retirement System.

Rod is a regular guest on the financial news channels (CNBC, Fox Business and Bloomberg) and is frequently quoted in the financial press.

Rod earned an MA in Economics from Dundee University in Scotland.

Doug Sandler
Global Strategist

Doug Sandler

Doug serves as Chief US Equity Officer, bringing more than 20 years of investment experience to the equity team. In addition, he serves on the firm’s Operating Committees. Prior to launching RiverFront, Doug served as Managing Director and Chief Equity Strategist at Wachovia Securities, where he was responsible for all equity advice of the firm. He led a team of talented and experienced portfolio managers and strategists, whose goal was to provide independent and sound equity recommendations. The work of his team included actively managed portfolios, weekly investment pieces and the regular monitoring of widely held positions of the firm's clients. Doug is also a regular guest on the financial news channels (CNBC, Bloomberg) and is frequently quoted in the financial press. Doug earned a BS in Accounting and an MBA from the University of Richmond, graduating with honors. He received his CFA designation in 1997.

Chris Konstantinos, CFA
Chief Investment Strategist

Chris Konstantinos

Mr. Konstantinos, CFA, serves as Chief Investment Strategist and Director of International Equity, with more than 17 years’ experience as an equity sector analyst, portfolio manager, and portfolio risk manager across domestic and international markets. In addition, he serves on the firm’s Leadership Team and Investment Committee.

Mr. Konstantinos has been with RiverFront since the company’s founding in 2008. He began his career in 2000 as a corporate finance analyst in the Technology sector at a predecessor to Wachovia Securities. He joined Wachovia’s Advisory Services Group in 2002 as an equity strategist, and worked in various capacities within equity strategy and portfolio management until his departure in 2008.

Mr. Konstantinos earned his BS in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mr. Konstantinos received his CFA designation in 2013 and is a member of CFA Virginia Society. He has successfully completed the FINRA Series 7, 66, 86 and 87 licensing exams. Mr. Konstantinos is also a regular guest on the financial news channels (CNBC, Bloomberg) and is frequently quoted in the financial press.

Kevin Nicholson, CFA
Chief Market Strategist

Kevin Nicholson

Kevin serves as Chief Market Strategist and COO of the RiverShares Division and is responsible for raising and deploying cash in the portfolios, as well as determining which asset classes to use as funding or investment sources when making the tactical allocation decisions in the RiverFront strategies.

Kevin's career has spanned over 25 years and during that time he has served in various capacities in trading, portfolio management and risk management.  He joined RiverFront in 2010 and served as the senior Fixed Income Portfolio Manager for 2 years and the Chief Risk Officer for 4 years.  In his role as Chief Market Strategist, his primary responsibility is implementing the tactical asset allocation shifts in the firm’s strategies. In addition, Kevin serves on the firm’s Investment Committee as well as the Senior Leadership Team.  He is also a regular guest on financial news channels (CNBC, Bloomberg) and is frequently quoted in the financial press.

Kevin earned a BA in Business and Economics from Randolph-Macon College and an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University.  He earned his CFA designation in 2014.
