Michael McClary

Michael McClary, Chief Investment Officer of TOPS®/ ValMark Advisers, Inc, has been with the ValMark organization and led the TOPS® program since 2003. Mr. McClary has direct responsibility for the investment programs for ValMark Advisers, Inc. and ValMark Institutional. Michael also helps to oversee broker-dealer investment products for ValMark Securities, Inc.

Michael's main focus is leading the Portfolio Management Team for The Optimized Portfolio System (TOPS®). TOPS® is one of the nation's longest running, largest, and most successful exchange traded fund (ETF) investment management programs with over $5 Billion in ETF assets. TOPS® is available primarily through Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs), Collective Investment Funds (CIFs), and Variable Insurance Funds.

Michael has a Bachelor of Science Business Administration (Magna Cum Laude) in Financial Services and a Master's Degree (MBA) in Financial Management, both from the University of Akron.

Recognized as one of the nation's leading experts on ETFs, Michael was one of 3 individuals nationally selected to the 1st class of the ETF Advisors Hall of Fame by Research Magazine and IMN in 2007. In 2012, Michael was named as one of '10 Rising Stars' by ETFReport. In 2014, Michael was named as one of 10 'All Stars' in the ETF industry by ETFReport. Likewise, Michael has collaborated with the Wall Street Journal, Kiplinger's, Financial Advisor, and Research Magazine on ETF related topics and been a featured speaker for organizations such as the S&P, the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and ETF.com.

Tyler Denholm

Tyler Denholm, Vice President of Investment Management & Research for TOPS®/ValMark Advisers, has been with the ValMark organization since 2007.  Mr. Denholm is a member of the Portfolio Management Team for The Optimized Portfolios System (TOPS®).  His main focus is portfolio analysis and research for the Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs), Collective Investment Funds (CIFs), and Variable Insurance Funds.

Tyler has a Bachelor of Science Business Administration (Summa Cum Laude) – Finance from the University of Akron.  He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.

Ryan Gilmer

Ryan Gilmer, Vice President of Investment Management has been with the ValMark Financial Group since 2016. ValMark Financial Group is a leading national independent wealth management firm with over 50 years in business and offices in over 30 states. Mr. Gilmer assists in managing and servicing the investment programs for ValMark Advisers, Inc. and ValMark Institutional.

Ryan’s main focus is contributing to the Portfolio Management Team for The Optimized Portfolio System (TOPS®). TOPS® is one of the nation’s longest running, largest, and most successful exchange traded fund (ETF) investment management programs with about $5 Billion in ETF assets. Bob Leggett

Bob Leggett

Bob joined the ValMark portfolio management team in 2014 and his primary role is participating on the Portfolio Management Team for The Optimized Portfolio System (TOPS). Bob has worked closely with the TOPS team since 2008 when he became a member of the ValMark TOPS Investment Advisory Committee which created strategies and tactical implementation plans for ValMark’s TOPS investment models. Bob spent more than 30 years leading investment management teams before joining ValMark. He was the Chief Investment Officer at FirstMerit Bank NA in Akron, a partner and the CIO of Gries Financial, LLC (an investment management and financial planning boutique in Cleveland) and served as President and Managing Director of the National City Investment Management Company (now merged with PNC).

Bob is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a Certified Wealth Advisor (CWA) and was a member of the Cleveland Association for Business Economics (CABE). He holds a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University.
