If Americans are searching for one thing to look upon with pride about this election, it should be that our nation will once again make a peaceful transition of power. Trump’s policy proposals are not very detailed and could be substantially modified in the legislative process. Until we get more clarity on future policy direction, we are likely to encounter more market volatility. However, if we can avoid extended trade disputes with our friends and major export markets (especially Canada and Mexico), then we believe that the long bull market that began in 2009 can remain intact.
