Emerging Market ETFs: Value vs. Growth

The value-focused fund has been outperforming, rising 7.6% over the last month and adding 16.6% in the last three months.

The iShares MSCI Emerging Markets Growth ETF (NYSEArca: EGRW) tracks growth-oriented emerging market stocks. Growth stocks typically include companies, like tech stocks, with earnings expected to expand at an above-average rate, and they usually don’t offer dividends, which are reinvested back into the firm.

EGRW tracks 413 companies, and the top holdings include Samsung Electronics 7.7%, Taiwan Semiconductor 4.7% and Tencent Holdings 2.9%. Top sectors include financials 23.7%, information technology 23.2% and consumer staples 14.4%.

The growth fund is up 2% over the past month and gained 4.5% over the last three months.
