From Debt to a $62.5M Startup: Rodney Williams on His ‘Internet of Sound’ Software

Williams has dubbed LISNR as the “Internet of sound,” and has achieved considerable success so far, including nearly $19 million in funding from Intel Capital, Rubicon VC, Progress Ventures, and others.

From marketing diapers at P&G to launching his advanced audio software, Williams has had a noteworthy career. What sparked his drastic decision to quit his job? Williams attributes it to an apathy of boredom. “I kind of don’t understand being bored, doing the same thing over and over again. I wanted more, I wanted harder problems, I wanted more ambitious goals.”
