Bitcoin Adoption Will Rise, Says New Study

While bitcoin, the largest digital currency by market value, is volatile relative to traditional financial assets, such as bonds and equities, it is not close to being the most volatile cryptocurrency.

“Since its emergence in 2009, the debate has always been about whether Bitcoin could replace fiat money. Even with more than 1,600 other virtual tokens, most of the attention in the crypto world revolves around Bitcoin. For researchers at Imperial College, cryptos could become mainstream within the next decade,” according to Ethereum World News.

Issues such as scalability must also be resolved before cryptos gain wider acceptance. Additionally, regulatory hurdles remain, including central banks in some countries outright banning transactions denominated in cryptocurrencies.
