One Good Chart: Commodities, Global ETFs Sag Thursday

October ended in lethargic fashion Thursday, but what was generally a good month for precious metals exchange traded funds and mining sector equivalents looks a little less glittery as Halloween trading brought scary results for gold and silver.

Of Thursday’s 15 worst non-leveraged ETFs, five were directly related to gold and silver. Those looking for global shelter, particularly of the emerging markets variety, were not greeted with open arms as seven of the 15 worst offenders on the day were international funds.
