Unlike the more historied mutual fund business, the exchange traded fund industry does not have many well-recognized faces, but one such name in the ETF biz is being recognized by ETF.com with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
State Street Global Advisors, the asset management side and ETF sponsor for the State Street Corporate (NYSE: STT), announced that James Ross, Chairman of the Global SPDR Business at SSGA, has been given the Lifetime Achievement Award by ETF.com at an Awards Diner presented by Inside ETFs, according to a note.
“We are all extremely proud to see Jim recognized for everything he has done to promote responsible innovation in our industry,” Ronald P. O’Hanley, CEO of SSGA, said in a note. “Whether it is his pioneering work on the team that created the first ETF, his work to educate investors or his continued efforts to make equity markets stronger, safer and more resilient, few have done more to reimagine the future of investing than Jim.”
The Lifetime Achievement Award honors those for “outstanding long-term contributions to ETF investor outcomes.” The organization acknowledged Ross’s leadership, character, integrity and overall contributions to the ETF industry since its inception.
