“Austria is confronted with a long-term structural change,” Governor Ewald Nowotny said at a press conference.. “The challenge lies in coming up with areas which can bring us back to a promising path.”
While the financial sector makes up 35.7% of EWO’s underlying holdings, industrials is the second largest sector at 26.8% of the ETF’s portfolio, followed by materials at 16.8%. Among the fund’s largest positions, Voestalpine AG (VOE), which is active in steel, automotive, railway systems and other steel industries, makes up 10.1% of EWO’s underlying portfolio.
