A-Shares ETFs Gain Ground as China Curbs Foreing Investment Limits

Foreign investors who want to gain direct access to Chinese A-shares have obtained Renminbi Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor (RQFII) status. Most China-related ETFs track U.S. or Hong Kong-listed Chinese stocks.

However, the increased access can pave the way for more China A-shares ETFs, like the db X-trackers Harvest CSI 300 China A-Shares Fund (NYSEArca: ASHR), KraneShares Bosera MSCI China A ETF (NYSEArca: KBA) and Market Vectors ChinaAMC A-Share ETF (NYSEArca: PEK).

Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management also recently launched the db X-trackers Harvest MSCI All China Equity Fund (NYSE ticker: CN), which offers exposure to China A-shares in addition to China B-shares, China H-shares, China Red Chips, China P-Chips, China ADRs, and securities of Chinese companies listed in the US and Singapore.
