Most Searched ETFs: New Contestants

Although they trailed VWOB, the Market Vectors High Yield Municipal Index ETF (NYSEArca: HYD) and the SPDR Nuveen S&P High Yield Municipal Bond ETF (NYSEArca: HYMB) each earned spots in the 10 most searched ETFs. High-yield municipal bonds have been among the top performers in the fixed income space this year as declining Treasury yields have lifted munis.

Other new faces among the most searched ETFs included the PowerShares FTSE RAFI US 1000 Portfolio (NYSEArca: PRF) and the Guggenheim S&P Global Water ETF (NYSEArca: CGW).

Following RSX, the iShares MSCI Brazil Capped ETF (NYSEArca: EWZ) was the next most-searched single-country ETF on reports that after the fund’s recently torrid pace, investors are finally putting capital back to work with the largest Brazil ETF. [Investors Return to Brazil ETF]

Ongoing strength in the utilities sector is probably one reason why the iShares Select Dividend ETF (NYSEArca: DVY) was the most searched dividend ETF on ETF Trends this week. DVY allocates nearly 35% of its weight to utilities, the best S&P 500 sector this year.
