  • Semiconductors have been one of the best performing sectors so far this year.
  • The Semiconductor Industry Association revealed that worldwide industry sales of semiconductors hit $26.3 billion in January, an increase o 8.8% year-over-year nad the largest one-year increase in almost three years, according to a press release.
  • “The global semiconductor industry has built on its record revenues from 2013 with an impressive start to 2014, led largely by continued strength in the Americas market,” Brian Toohey, president and CEO, Semiconductor Industry Association, said in the press release. “Sales in January were up across most regions and nearly all product categories compared to last January, which bodes well for continued growth during the rest of 2014.”
  • U.S. sales increased 17.3% year-over-year, followed by 11.3% rise in sales out of Europe and 8.3% gain in Asia Pacific.
