Additionally, the iShares US Real Estate ETF (NYSEArca: IYR) has dipped from its high after Treasury yields soared. However, REITs can also provide investors a solid income play, especially with Janet Yellen, a known proponent for tapering, taking over the Fed.
“With Janet Yellen at the helm, I don’t believe there is a strong chance of tapering until sometime in the latter part of Q1, or beginning part of Q2 2014,” Fabian added. “This definitely gives many REITs a tailwind.”
