PowerShares Hires New Global Head of ETFs

Dan Draper has been named the new global head of exchange traded funds at Invesco PowerShares, according to a report. The new ETF head is looking to global markets as new avenues for growth.

Draper believes the firm, which is known for its fundamental strategies that provide access to alternative indexing methodologies, will continue to expand in the U.S. and globally, emphasizing growth overseas, reports Olly Ludwig for IndexUniverse.

The new global head of ETFs previously worked at Credit Suisse where he headed the firm’s European ETF operation before BlackRock iShares acquired it earlier this year. [BlackRock to Acquire Credit Suisse ETF Business: Report]

Ben Fulton previously held a similar role as Draper at Invesco PowerShares before stepping down in April.

Invesco PowerShares is now the fourth largest ETF provider, with $86 billion in assets under management.
