“Schwab has demonstrated its commitment to ETFs, and it made the decision to create the team for advisors and investors who custody to make sure they get what they need to make decisions,” says Flynn.
Education and information is particularly important for the retail segment as it really starts to adopt ETFs in greater numbers.
The goal of the snapshot is to give the industry an idea of what Schwab sees in terms of ETF usage on its own platform. Schwab sees its large client base as an advantage when it comes to finding out how and by whom ETFs are being used.
“There’s lots of reporting out there, but we didn’t see much dialogue about who’s using them and what they’re doing,” Flynn notes.
