David Garff, the CEO of Accuvest Global Advisors and MOSAIC, spoke to VettaFi at the Exchange conference earlier this year. He covered a range of topics. These included a review of his biggest 2023 accomplishment, what his firm is seeking to do in 2024, and the big draws of the Exchange conference.
Garff on His 2023 Accomplishments
Asked about his biggest accomplishment in 2023, Garff said, “My biggest accomplishment personally is helping roll up seven companies into one.” The combination of different companies means Garff’s firm is more than a typical TAMP. “We’re a platform that allows clients to do everything from structuring their portfolios to reporting on their results and everything in between,” he added.
Looking to 2024
This year, Garff is interested in growing Accuvest’s partnerships worldwide. Accordingly, he is trying to reach new markets. Pointing to their partnerships in Latin America, he shared that they are hoping those partnerships can help the firm reach into Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay. Above all, he hopes 2024 will be a year of growth.
Why Exchange Matters to Garff
Speaking to why Garff is a regular at Exchange, he said, “I come to this conference for a variety of reasons, one is to be exposed to new ideas.” Exchange is known for bringing together financial thought leaders and experts, and is often a hotbed of innovative ideas. Keynote speakers such as Cathie Woods, Rodney Mullen, Dr. David Kelly, have shared their unique perspectives with attendees. “The conference has grown dramatically since I started coming to it a decade ago.”
Looking at the biggest takeaways from the conference, Garff noted that there are almost too many to count. Whether its learning a new technology to help make practice management more efficient or finding the next big innovation, Exchange give advisors the opportunity to grow in multiple directions. “It is a mix of opportunities to serve our clients and have better outcomes for them.”
