Finances for Real Life CEO Wanda Toro was interviewed at Exchange 2025. In the interview video, she said, “I call it ‘Finances for Real Life’ because that’s what it’s all about — your real life.” The goal of Toro’s practice is to give people their best possible lives through the freedoms and opportunities that finances can offer.
Wanda Toro on Her Investment Philosophy
Having been in the field since 1993, Toro said, “I think my philosophy is basically an art.” She said the amount that can be set aside and the rate of the return matter a great deal, but that the most powerful ingredient is time.
“I think the most important thing for clients to recognize is that you must connect with your financial advisor wherever that is. You have to trust them and have confidence in them,” she shared. Accordingly, Toro encourages people to talk to many financial advisors. When they find someone they feel they can connect and align with to get the life they want, that’s who they should go with. “In many cases, I find that to be me,” she added
A self-described “geek,” Toro loves hearing her clients’ stories, looking at the numbers, and formulating a plan. The goal is to help people get where they want to go to.
Highlights of Exchange 2025
Asked for her highlights of Exchange 2025, Toro shared that there were two presentations in particular that spoke to her. The first was Dr. David Kelly. “That’s always going to appeal to the geek side of me,” she shared.
The other was Dr. Christa Kuberry. Her session covered the importance of resiliency in both finance and well-being. “What [was]fascinating about her presentation was she talked about breathing — and that is one of the most important things we do,” Toro said. “As a yoga teacher, I spend maybe 25% of my time helping people learn about breathing.” She shared that this yoga practice also helps her finance practice get people to a good place.
Asked about her favorite memories from Exchange, Toro said, “The food is always great. The sunshine’s fantastic. What’s not to love about Las Vegas?”
