Last week, InvestmentNews reported on Vanguard and how their approach to exchange traded funds (ETFs) has them falling behind other providers. Vanguard has since launched a new ETF, the Vanguard High Dividend Yield Index Fund (VYM). The ETF tracks the FTSE High Dividend Yield Index, a new custom benchmark where stocks are selected from the U.S. component of FTSE’s Global Equity Index Series. The press release states that Vanguard will continue to expand their index fund family, tailoring the fund line to meet investor’s needs.
