This Week’s Big ETF Stories

Slack economic data helped propel the S&P 500 to two consecutive record closes to finish the week as market participants speculated the Federal Reserve will not rush to hike interest rates if economic data remains soft.

“With the earnings season drawing to a close, S&P 500 members are now on track to deliver income growth of 0.4 percent in the first quarter, compared with projections for a 5.8 percent decline as recently as March. Out of 460 S&P 500 companies that have reported earnings, 72 percent have beaten earnings expectations, while 47 percent have exceeded sales estimates,” according to Bloomberg.

With that let’s get into what was a busy week for exchange traded funds.
