Coffee ETN Extends Rally, Surging to 20-Month High

Meanwhile, demand has jumped in recent years. According to the International Coffee Organization, the coffee market saw demand exceed consumption in the two years ended September 30. For instance, Brazilians are likely to consume 3.2% more coffee in 2016, compared to its typical growth rate of about 1%.

Cooxupe Executive Director Lucio Dias expects they will divert as many as 700,000 bags of coffee originally slated for exports to the domestic market this year.

“Export and internal prices are similar, but domestic sales yield a bigger net gain because of lower logistical costs,” Dias told Bloomberg.
