Actively Managed ETFs top $20B in Assets

With $228.4 million in assets, the TrimTabs Float Shrink ETF (NYSEArca: TTFS) is one of the dominant names among equity-based actively managed ETFs. The Cambria Shareholder Yield ETF (NYSEArca: SYLD) had $227.1 million in assets at the end of the first quarter.

The ValueShares U.S. Quantitative Value ETF (BATS: QVAL) and the recently launched ValueShares International Quantitative Value ETF (BATS: IVAL), both courtesy of Dr. Wesley Gray’s ValueShares, and Tuttle Management’s Tuttle Tactical Management U.S. Core Exchange-Traded-Fund (NasdaqGS: TUTT) are among the new equity-based actively managed ETFs that have found success.

Combining U.S. and international active equity ETFs, such funds represented just 4.6% of the active ETF market as of April 24, according to AdvisorShares data.
