Last week’s exchange traded funds flows data highlights at least one of this year’s most prominent themes: Massive inflows to currency hedged ETFs. Two of last week’s top three asset-gathering ETFs were currency hedged ETFs. Despite talk of a looming Federal Reserve rate hike, two of the top four asset gatherers were bond funds.
On the other side of the ledger, some dividend ETFs, including two of the four largest, were ravaged by outflows. Four of the five ETFs worst hit by outflows last week were Vanguard funds.
