“Investing in water has the potential to make a difference in investment portfolios and, most important, an important difference in the world in which we live,” said Guggenheim Managing Director William Belden in a statement. “By 2025, it’s anticipated that two-thirds of the world’s population may be facing water shortages.”
CGW has validated the water investment theme. Over the past five years, the ETF has climbed over 57%, outpacing the MSCI World NR Index in the process.
U.S. companies account for 38.3% CGW’s weight with another 17.9% going to U.K.-based firms. Switzerland and France receive weights in excess of 8%.
