WisdomTree Head of Capital Markets Dave Abner joined ETF Trends Publisher Tom Lydon at the Morningstar ETF Conference in Chicago to discuss the importance of increased ETF trading education. Abner noted that over the past several years, ETF trading education is starting to bear fruit.
“The way know that is that we’re seeing asset flows move down the curve into funds that trade lower volume,” said Abner.
Abner also dispelled the notion that asset levels are important to buyers while noting that an ETF’s on-screen volume is a backward-looking indicator.
Importantly, Abner also notes that investors need to be aware that the exchange trading with ETFs is a function of what the fund holds.
