Other notable “Basket” type funds in the Currency space to take note of include CEW (WisdomTree Emerging Currency, Expense Ratio 0.55%), which has about $94 million in AUM currently, but has been quite larger at times in terms of asset size in the past 5 years thanks to larger institutional/wealth manager allocations.

Also, PIMCO launched the actively managed FORX (PIMCO Foreign Currency Strategy, Expense Ratio 0.65%) in early 2013 which according to fund literature “is likely to benefit if the U.S. dollar depreciates. FORX will primarily invest in currencies, currency forwards, or fixed income securities denominated in the currencies of foreign countries,” and this fund has pulled in about $20 million since inception despite the U.S. Dollar rally.
