State Street: ETFs Add $17B in Assets in July

Flows to international funds were buoyed by strong showings from emerging markets ETFs and select Europe funds. Only the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (NYSEArca: SPY) and the iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (NYSEArca: IVV) have added more new money this quarter than the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (NYSEArca: EEM). The Vanguard FTSE Emerging Markets ETF (NYSEArca: VWO) is the fourth-best ETF in terms of third-quarter inflows.

While European stocks have pulled back, investors are preparing for a rebound that combines with added euro weakness as highlighted by almost $340 million in combined third-quarter inflows to the WisdomTree Europe Hedged Equity Fund (NYSEArca: HEDJ) and the db X-Trackers MSCI Europe Hedged Equity Fund (NYSEArca: DBEU).
