ETF Chart of the Day: A Quality Query

In a relatively short amount of time (the fund debuted last July) QUAL has picked up nearly $400 million in AUM.

Other ETFs that own AAPL for fundamental/quantitative reasons are PXLG (PowerShares RAFI Fundamental Pure Large Growth Portfolio, Expense Ratio 0.39%) and DGRW (WisdomTree U.S. Dividend Growth, Expense Ratio 0.28%).

DGRW is an especially interesting concept since the index is fundamentally designed be composed of “dividend-paying stocks with growth characteristics.” Those that grapple with the question about AAPL (and other “old guard” techs), “Is it a growth name or a value name?” may not have to worry about that so much today and going forward, with newer, innovative ETFs like some of the ones mentioned available.
