Vanguard Now Offers ETF Model Portfolio Services | ETF Trends

Vanguard Group is providing exchange traded fund model portfolios on its financial advisor website, highlighting actionable strategies with its suite of ETFs.

The money manager added model portfolios at the end of 2013, offering up asset allocation capabilities of its research team to advisors, reports Jackie Noblett for Ignites.

Vanguard has been using model portfolio for its individual advice business, but these new model portfolios are the first the provider created for external advisors.

Currently, there are 11 models that provide asset allocation suggestions, including broad exposure to domestic equities, international equities and taxable bonds. The portfolios are updated monthly.

With ETF managed portfolios, financial advisors can better manage their time, focusing on client-relationship and business-development, according to Vanguard.

Vanguard is playing catch up, as BlackRock, State Street Global Advisors and Charles Schwab have provided their own models portfolios designed exclusively around their respective ETF lines.
