Credit Suisse Merger Arbitrage Index ETN (NYSEArca: CSMA) is an exchange traded note that takes long positions in targets and short positions in acquisitors. The note tracks deals that take place in Canada, the United States and Western Europe. Index IQ Merger Arbitrage ETF (NYSEArca: MNA) tracks a handful of takeover targets while shorting the global market. The aforementioned MRGR takes actual long positions in acquisition targets and actual short positions in acquisitors in stock-for-stock deals. The long positions in developed markets are equally weighted.
