Last week, JP Morgan (NYSE: JPM) and Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC) announced quarterly results that surpassed Wall Street forecasts. Later this week, investors will get earnings reports from Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS), Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) and Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS).
XLF, the financial ETF, is up about 25% year to date, while the S&P 500 has climbed roughly 19%. XLF was up 0.5% in Monday’s premarket.
