Other financial sector ETFs include the Vanguard Financials ETF (NYSEArca: VFH), which takes a broader approach to the U.S. financial industry, with about 500 holdings, the iShares Dow Jones Financial Sector ETF (NYSEArca: IYF) also tracks a broad portfolio of 250 financial services firms. VFH and IYF have been nearly perfectly correlated with XLF.

Additionally, the SPDR S&P Bank ETF (NYSEArca: KBE) provides a more direct play on U.S. banks and less exposure to nonbank financial companies. The he PowerShares KBW High Dividend Yield Financial Portfolio (NYSEArca: KBWD) is also another interesting choice as it provides attractive dividend yields.
