3M Earnings to Sway Dow, Industrials ETFs | ETF Trends

Exchange traded funds (ETFs) tracking the Dow and large-cap industrial stocks were on the bill Tuesday following earnings from 3M (NYSE: MMM).

Dow component Coca-Cola (NYSE: KO) was also set to report results before the opening bell, while Ford (NYSE: F) and UPS (NYSE: UPS) announced quarterly earnings as well.

3M shares were higher in premarket trading Tuesday after the company said its quarterly profit rose.

3M is a top holding of the roughly $10 billion SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF (NYSEArca: DIA), accounting for 5.7% of the portfolio. It is also a key component in industrial-sector ETFs such as Vanguard Industrials ETF (NYSEArca: VIS). [Traders See Downside in Industrial Sector ETFs.]
