New ETFs: Emerging Markets, Actively Managed Junk Bonds | ETF Trends

Global X, known for its growing line of emerging market exchange traded funds (ETFs), has plans to add two more. Meanwhile, AdvisorShares said it has plans to launch the first active junk bond ETF.

Global X plans to launch two broad emerging market ETFs that focus on growth and value styles. The funds will be the Global X Russell Emerging Markets Growth and the Global X Russell Emerging Markets Value, both based on Russell indexes.

Olivier Ludwig for IndexUniverse notes that these are the first ETFs from Global X that will invest in a broader selection of developing markets. No countries, tickers or expense ratios were specified in the filing, however.

AdvisorShares is readying to launch the ETF industry’s first actively managed high-yield bond ETF. The provider says that the Peritus High Yield (HYLD) should be launched by no later than Dec. 3. Murray Coleman for Barron’s reports that Peritus Asset Management will be the ETF’s advisor.
