Schwab Begins Trading New Bond ETF Today | ETF Trends

Charles Schwab has kicked off trading in a brand-new bond exchange traded fund (ETF). The fund will track the price and yield performance of the Barclays Capital U.S. 3-10 Year Treasury Bond Index.

As with Schwab’s other ETFs, those who have their brokerage accounts with the provider will get free trading of Schwab Intermediate-Term U.S. Treasury ETF (NYSEArca: SCHR). Investors trading with Schwab will get to trade a bond ETF with no trading fees, if they have a brokerage account with the provider. [How to Start Buying and Trading ETFs.]

The benchmark, Barclays Capital U.S. 3-10 Year Treasury Bond Index, includes all publicly-issued U.S. Treasury securities that have a remaining maturity of greater than or equal to three years and less than 10 years, are rated investment-grade, and have $250 million or more of outstanding face value, says ETF Daily News.
