NYSE Moves ETFs To ARCA | ETF Trends

A recent memo from NYSE Euronext to trading floor specialists and brokers stated all exchange traded funds (ETFs) are expected to move primary listings from the New York Stock Exchange to the NYSE Arca trading platform. This move symbolizes the popularity of the NYSE Arca electronic platform for ETF trading, which began listing ETFs last fall.  NYSE Arca handled 42% of ETF trades during the first quarter. There are plans to transfer 162 ETFs to Arca by year’s end, working with ETF issuers and providers along the way. Specialists and issuers agree the Arca platform provides efficiency in ETF trading.  Those who have worked on both platforms prefer the electronic method, reports Diya Gullapalli for The Wall Street Journal.
