ETF Growth Review | ETF Trends

Looking over the second quarter, the total number of exchange traded funds (ETFs) crossed the 500 mark and the bond category has been the most active with 13 new funds added, reports  ETF Guide. The number of bond ETFs increased due to new offerings from Vanguard and State Street Global Advisors.  The $500 billion threshold is on the horizon. Sector ETFs are up, and so are their expense ratios at 0.52% from 0.48%. Specialty groups had the highest expenses of the ETF categories, with fixed-income having the lowest expense ratios of all, at 0.20%.
