WisdomTree Investments announced their creation of a business unit that will allow investors to use exchange traded funds (ETFs) in the 401(k) marketplace. Al Shemtob has been selected as Director of Retirement Services to lead the way, as he is a veteran of the 401(k) industry. Lisa Shidler of InvestmentNews.com reports investors and advisers alike have recognized the benefits of ETFs in a 401(k) plan and the market has $2.4 trillion in assets, which is a good channel for ETF growth. It’s not exactly known how WisdomTree plans to push into this space, we’ll have to wait and see how this new business unit takes off.
