State Street Gives ETFs a Remodel | ETF Trends

State Street Global Advisors announced they will be re-branding their exchange traded funds (ETFs) and consolidating the offerings under a single name – SPDRs. Until now they have offered streetTRACKS and SPDR ETFs. The press release states the unified brand is aimed to bring clarity to investors and further distinguish their ETFs. The initiative begins January 8, 2007 and will be done in phases. ETF ticker symbols will remain the same. The re-branding of its website (www.spdretfs.com) along with a refined version of the spider logo will help make the brand more discernible. The company’s main goal is precision- SPDR’s product purity and what investors look for in an investment.
