There is a new exchange traded fund (ETF) offered by PowerShares, which will focus on companies with large portion of revenue from products and services based in clean technology. PowerShares Cleantech Portfolio (PZD) follows the Cleantech Index, enabling investors access to companies that are addressing the need for cleaner water, energy, industrial production and environmental stewardship, as noted in the press release. The companies included in the index have a combined market capitalization of $100 billion with half of their sales obtained from cleantech products and services.
