ETFs Make Up Surgeon's Mutual Fund | ETF Trends

In a recent Ignites article, Lisa Lacy, explores exchange traded funds and how they are used by affinity groups, such as surgeons, and how investors desire to use ETFs has mutual funds turning to ETFs as their investment of choice.

The American College of Surgeons is developing a new mutual fund, one that invests 100% in ETFs.  Affinity relationships and marketing are looking for new ways to find opportunity.  They want to offer their busy group an inexpensive way to manage portfolios.  And they see this with ETFs.

Gary Gastineau of ETF Consultants believes it would make more sense to offer an ETF of ETFs.  He has put in a request for SEC approval to provide actively managed ETFs.  While this is reviewed for approval it looks like we might see more mutual funds using ETFs.
