Barclays New ETFs - Fueling Growth | ETF Trends

This year PowerShares has introduced new exchange traded funds representing narrow market sectors.  State Street has filed for more sector funds.  This time it is Barclays’ iShares filing registration for 10 new ETFs with a narrow focus.  Some of the proposed ETFs are: U.S. Medical Devices, U.S. Broker-Dealers, U.S. Oil Equipment & Services and U.S. Home Construction.

iShares ETFs follow traditional broad sector indexes from Dow Jones & Co.  With the proposed ETFs it looks as though they are starting to zero in on specific areas.  This should help with ETF growth for 2006.
