Government OKs ETFs at Pentagon Credit Union | ETF Trends

The $8 billion Pentagon Federal Credit Union represents 650,000 active and retired members of the armed forces. Very soon these people will be able to invest in a variety of exchange traded fund portfolios provided by FolioFn.

ETF providers are experiencing an increase in demand as retirement plan providers become more educated on the advantages of ETFs. Historically, 401k plans have offered only conventional mutual funds which represent a huge part of fund industry assets. The day will come when plan custodians like Fidelity will be forced to offer ETFs within their plans too.
