ETF Trends Editor Tom Lydon speaks with BlackRock’s iShares Global Chief Investment Strategist, Russ Koesterich, about the looming U.S. fiscal cliff and the potential negative fallout for the all-important consumer sector. Koesterich doesn’t think the risks of going over the fiscal cliff are reflected in the stock market because most investors think there will be a last-minute compromise in Washington.
The iShares strategist recommends investors get defensive with low-volatility ETFs that cushion downside risk. He also thinks investors should reduce their overweight to U.S. stocks and look overseas for dividend yield.
