Silver Miner ETF Jumps 4%

The $643 million Global X Silver Miners ETF (NYSEArca: SIL) rose 4% in afternoon trading Friday while an exchange traded fund (ETF) that holds silver bullion rallied 2%.

Silver futures were trading above $40 an ounce to close the week.

The silver miner ETF was building on its recent gains after breaking out along with funds tracking gold-miner stocks.
