IBM Sending AI-Based Robot to Space

Tech firm IBM is one of the companies in the forefront of artificial intelligence technology and it just developed an ai-based robot that it can send to space with astronauts.

The robot itself, dubbed “CIMON” for Crew Interactive Mobile Companion, is “able to assist the astronauts with their daily experiments and their procedures they need to conduct,” according to Matthias Biniok, IBM Lead Watson Architect for DACH.

Venturing into space can be a lonely endeavor, but part of CIMON’s functionality includes having conversations with the astronauts–about almost anything.
