Japan, Canada ETF/ETP Assets Reach Record $235B, $107B

Canadian Fixed income ETFs and ETPs have gathered a level of US$179 million in net inflows in August, growing YTD net inflows to a level of US$3.49 billion, which is less than the same period last year which saw net inflows of US$4.08 billion.

Canadian Commodity ETFs and ETPs saw net inflows of US$42 million in August. YTD, net inflows are at US$41 million, compared to net inflows of US$261 million over the same period last year.

Meanwhile, Japanese Equity ETFs/ETPs gathered a record level of US$8.55 billion in net inflows in August, bringing YTD net inflows to a record level of US$42.74 billion, which is much greater than the net inflows of US$21.43 billion over the same period last year and more than the US$36.67 billion gathered in all 2016.

Japanese Fixed income ETFs and ETPs have gathered a record level of US$13 million in net inflows in August, growing YTD net inflows to a record level of US$51 million, which is greater than the same period last year which saw net inflows of US$48 million.

Japanese Commodity ETFs/ETPs saw net outflows of US$34 million in August. YTD, net inflows are at US$0.04 million, compared to net inflows of US$53 million over the same period last year.
