E*Trade Adds 46 ETFs to Commission-Free ETF Suite

E*TRADE Financial Corporation (NASDAQ:ETFC), one of the largest discount brokers, announced another expansion to its commission-free ETFs platform Wednesday.

By adding 46 ETFs from six providers to its commission-free ETF program, E*TRADE now offers more than 250 ETFs without commissions. The new ETFs joining the broker’s no commission program include funds from Direxion, Janus, Nuveen’s NuShares, BlackRock’s iShares, Janus, Reality Shares and Vanguard.

Of the 46 ETFs added to E*TRADE’s commission-free program, 32 are Vanguard funds. Pennsylvania-based Vanguard is the second-largest U.S. ETF sponsor behind iShares.

Inside The E*Trade Expansion

“With this expansion, we are thrilled to be a premier destination for investors seeking commission-free access to these popular ETFs,” said Rich Messina, SVP of Investment Product at E*TRADE Financial, in a statement. “It’s now easier than ever for E*TRADE customers to achieve comprehensive diversification across practically any asset class, and do so inexpensively. These additions can fill a tactical void for a multitude of strategies—from tracking broad indexes to seeking higher returns to defending against changing market conditions to pursuing factor-based sector exposure—while providing commission-free access to some of the most active, well-known ETFs available today.”

NuShares funds added to the E*TRADE platform include the NuShares ESG Mid-Cap Value ETF (BATS: NUMV), NuShares ESG Large-Cap Growth ETF (BATS: NULG) and the NuShares ESG Mid-Cap Growth ETF (BATS: NUMG).
