ETF Trends Publisher Tom Lydon: Top Tech ETFs to Watch

ETF Trends publisher Tom Lydon appeared on Fox Business Network’s ‘Closing Bell with Liz Claman’ on Tuesday to discuss top tech ETFs to watch.

Lydon looked to the ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK), which is a way to capture technological advances or innovative disruptions that change the way we interact with the world.

ARKK was one of the hottest and best performing ETFs in 2017, increasing 87.34% over the 12-month period.

“ROBO is one of the biggest robotics ETFs to consider,” Lydon said. “As far as automation and disruptive technology, ARKK is an excellent ETF to consider. It looks to DNA, energy storage, artificial intelligence.”

Lydon also highlighted the Emerging Markets Internet & Ecommerce ETF (EMQQ) that’s up 70.4% percent the past 12 months.

EMQQ is an emerging market e-commerce play with heavy China exposure – it’s top holdings include Alibaba (7.2%), Naspers 6.7%, Baidu (6.1%) and jd.com (6.1%).

“EMQQ is an ETF to consider because 75% of ordering online is coming through cell phones and that’s happening in emerging markets,” Lydon said.
