Vito Sciaraffia

Vito Sciaraffia is Chief Investment Officer at Innealta Capital, responsible for ensuring prudent management of all Innealta client assets, designing novel quantitative strategies, and leading the research activities of the investment team. Dr. Sciaraffia’s present role both emphasizes and builds upon his professional experience, focused heavily on the quantitative evaluation of equity securities and financial markets. In addition, he is actively involved with clients through conference presentations, Webinars, and written market commentaries.

Dr. Sciaraffia has been in the financial industry since 2004. His previous work experience includes: Senior Researcher on the Strategy Research Team at Dimensional Fund Advisors, Management Associate in the Investment Banking Division at Citigroup, and member of the Market Risk Team at JP Morgan. While at Dimensional, Dr. Sciaraffia conducted empirical asset pricing research, wrote research papers, enhanced the design of investment strategies, and collaborated with their marketing and sales departments by delivering technical presentations to various clients. Additionally, Dr. Sciaraffia was an Assistant Professor of Finance at the McCombs School of Business of the University of Texas at Austin, where he researched empirical asset pricing and taught the core Investment Management course.

He earned his PhD in business administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. In addition, he has an MA in Mathematics with an emphasis in stochastic processes and an MS in Business from the University of California, Berkeley, an MBA and an MS in Finance from the University of Chile, and a BS in Economics and Management from the Catholic University of Chile.

Eric Hare

Eric Hare serves as President and began his employment with AFAM Capital in 2007. Since then, he has held a number of roles in both the investments and operations side of the business and most recently was Chief Operating Officer. In his 9 years with the firm, he has played a key role in the advancements and developments within the Al Frank division, its value-oriented equity manager, and Innealta Capital, its quantitative asset management division specializing in the active management of portfolios of exchange-traded funds. In addition, he has been proved instrumental in the growth of The Prudent Speculator, the firm’s top-ranked investment newsletter. Eric graduated from Bemidji State University with a BA in Political Science and holds the FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses.

Josh Kocher

Josh Kocher serves as Portfolio Manager at Innealta Capital and is responsible for supporting and directing investment decisions, generating investment ideas across equities, credit, and fixed income, and providing trading support for tactically managed portfolios. He has worked in the financial services industry since 2000. His previous experience includes: portfolio management and analyst positions at MKP Capital Management, hedge fund and institutional sales at Credit Suisse, and portfolio management at Susquehanna International Group. While at MKP, he managed portfolios of fixed income, equity, and credit investments, collaborated with marketing and risk management departments, and researched new investment strategies. At Credit Suisse, Mr. Kocher worked on a multi-asset sales team that focused on generating and delivering investment ideas across equities, credit and fixed income. Finally at Susquehanna International Group (SIG), he managed SIG’s risk arbitrage investing strategies in closed end funds on the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Kocher earned a MBA in Finance from Columbia University and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
