Throughout the Financial Crisis of 2008 and the years following it became clear the quantitative, emotionless approaches of institutional asset managers were better equipped for success in today’s markets. After his time in various strategic roles with Ameriprise Financial and as a Senior Quant Analyst with Columbia Threadneedle, Chris developed the ability for retail financial advisors to finally have access to complex mathematical models designed to mitigate downside volatility without sacrificing the upside of the market. In 2014 he joined Westlake, Grahl & Glover as their Chief Investment Officer and launched a series of volatility-managed algorithms. These models were met with immediate interest and acceptance across a broad range of clients. Within a year, financial advisors across the nation began to seek access - and Helios Quantitative Research was founded. Today Helios influences over $8 billion in assets.

In 2015, Chris was named the greater Sacramento Area’s “Face of Investing” by Sacramento Magazine. He is a regular speaker and contributor at industry conferences and events such as those hosted by JP Morgan, State Street and other major presences in the financial industry.

Chris’ educational background includes a Bachelor’s in Business Finance and Law from the Opus School of Business at the University of St. Thomas. He also holds a FINRA Series 7 and completed the Level 1 CFA. He lives near Sacramento, CA with his wife and two children.

Prior to joining Helios Quantitative Research, LLC, Joe was the Chief Investment Officer at Sawtooth Solutions, a Senior Analyst at Columbia Threadneedle, a Vice President at AI Advisors, LLC and a Vice President at Mount Yale Capital Group. Joe has been published in various journals and quoted by major news outlets.

Joe’s educational background includes a Masters in Finance with a concentration in Quantitative Finance from London Business School and a BSB in Finance from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. After living in the frozen upper Midwest, Joe and his wife will soon be relocating to sunny Tampa, Florida.
